Chandrayaan-3: Our Chandrayaan-3 did wonders, Pragyan Rover discovered the oldest crater on the moon!

New Delhi: Chandrayaan-3 has discovered a new crater on the moon. This crater is 160 kilometers wide and is near the landing site of Chandrayaan-3. Scientists of Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad have published a report about this discovery in Science Direct. This new crater has been found from the data sent by Pragyan Rover. Pragyan Rover is currently roaming on the south pole of the moon and exploring there.

One of the oldest craters on the Moon

This new crater has been found 350 kilometers away from the oldest and largest crater on the moon, the Aitken Basin. When the Pragyan Rover was passing through this area, it saw this new crater. Scientists believe that this crater is even older than the Aitken Basin, that is, it is one of the oldest structures on the moon. This crater is so old that over time it got buried in debris and slowly got worn out. Pragyan Rover has taken pictures of this crater with its cameras, which will give scientists an opportunity to know more about the history of the moon.

You will get a chance to know the beginning of the moon

This discovery is very important because it will tell us about the early days of the moon. Scientists hope that this will give them more information about the formation and evolution of the moon. This discovery shows how successful the Chandrayaan-3 mission has been. We have learned a lot about the moon from this mission.
