The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of rain for the next five days in Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and southern states. Light rain expected in Delhi today

The weather department has forecast dust storm and light rain in Delhi late Friday evening. According to the IMD forecast, Delhi is likely to witness light rain along with dust storm with wind speed of 50 to 60 kmph late in the evening. The IMD said that the city’s weather has changed due to the effect of a new western disturbance. The weather department has forecast partly cloudy sky with dust storm or thundershowers and light rain on Saturday. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 42 and the minimum temperature around 29 degrees Celsius.

Strong storm warning in many districts of Rajasthan

The Meteorological Department has warned of dust storms at a speed of 50-60 kmph in four divisions of Rajasthan on Friday. There was a strong storm in many parts of the state on Thursday evening as well, which caused damage to electricity poles etc. at many places. The Meteorological Center Jaipur has predicted intense thunderstorms, thunderstorms at a speed of 50-60 kmph and rain in some parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer and Jaipur divisions after noon due to the effect of an active western disturbance. During this time, there is a possibility of rain, lightning and hailstorm at some places along with thunderstorms in western Rajasthan. According to this, the effect of the new weather system will continue on June 8-9 in the form of thunderstorms, thunderstorms and light rain in Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur, some parts of Kota divisions. At the same time, from June 10, there is a possibility of thunderstorms, rain in some parts of Kota, Udaipur divisions and the weather is likely to remain mainly dry in the remaining parts.

Heavy rains likely in Goa till June 11

The Meteorological Department has issued an ‘Orange’ alert for Goa, heavy rains are expected in the next four days. Also, the department has warned fishermen not to go into the sea. According to the department, the state is already receiving light pre-monsoon rains. In the coming days, thunderstorms, strong winds (40-50 kmph) are likely to occur at some places in both North and South Goa districts with heavy to very heavy rains. The department said that on June 8, winds are likely to blow at a speed of 35 to 45 kmph and gusts up to 55 kmph along and off the North Maharashtra coast. At the same time, between June 9 and 11, winds may blow at a speed of 45 to 55 kmph and gusts up to 65 kmph along and off the Maharashtra-Goa coast. The Meteorological Department has advised fishermen not to go into the sea along and off the North Maharashtra coast during this period.

Monsoon reaches Maharashtra, will arrive in Mumbai in 3-4 days

Monsoon arrived in southern parts of Maharashtra on time on Thursday. Rains have so far reached Kolhapur, Satara and Sangli. Medha Khole of Pune IMD said that monsoon is likely to reach Mumbai and Pune in the next 3-4 days. She said that heavy or very heavy rains are expected over the west coast in the coming days, especially in Mumbai and south of Mumbai around June 10-12.
