Champions Trophy: Prize money increased by 53 times, winner will get so much money

The ICC has increased the prize money of the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates by 53 percent and now the winning team will get 22 lakh 40 thousand dollars (about 20 crore rupees).

New Delhi: The winning team of the Champions Trophy starting on February 19 is going to rain this time. The International Cricket Council announced the prize money of the current season on Friday. This time the prize money of the Champions Trophy is 53 times more than the last edition in 2017.

Who will get how much money?
The ICC has announced a total of $ 69 lakh (about 60 crore rupees) prize money this time, the winner will get $ 2.24 million (about Rs 20 crore). The runner -up will get half its amount of 11 lakh 20 thousand dollars (Rs 9.72 crore). The teams losing in the semi -finals will get $ 560,000 (Rs 4.86 crore). Not only this, all the eight teams participating in the tournament will get $ 1,25,000.

ICC head Jai Shah announced
ICC President Jai Shah said in a statement before the tournament starting on February 19, “The prize money shows the ICC’s commitment to invest in sports and to maintain the global reputation of our competitions.”

1.08 Guarantee of Prize Money
Any team will get a prize money of $ 34,000 (Rs 30 lakh) for winning the group stage. Each team, who finished fifth or sixth, will get $ 350,000 (three crore rupees), while the seventh and eighth -ranked teams will get 140,000 US dollars (Rs 1.2 crore). Apart from this, each of all the eight teams participating in the competition will get a guarantee of $ 125,000 (Rs 1.08 crore).
