According to a top ICC source, the decision was more or less finalized during an informal meeting between the global governing body’s new chairman Jay Shah and the board of directors, including Pakistan, at its headquarters in Dubai.

An ICC source told PTI, ‘All parties have agreed in principle that the 2025 Champions Trophy 2025 will be held in UAE and Pakistan. Whereas India will play its matches in Dubai. This is a win-win situation for all stakeholders. The Champions Trophy will be held in February-March next year. Pakistan had agreed to the hybrid model in the last ICC meeting last week, withdrawing the boycott threat. And had demanded a similar arrangement for itself by 2031. However, ICC has agreed to the hybrid model for all its competitions till 2027.
