Champions Trophy may be held in the month of Ramadan, Pakistan sent plan to ICC, India-Pak match in Lahore…

New Delhi. The ICC Champions Trophy can be played in February-March next year. Host Pakistan has sent its plan and possible schedule to the ICC for this. A total of 8 teams will participate in this ICC tournament. 15 matches will be played between these 8 teams. The ICC Champions Trophy is to be played after a gap of 8 years. Pakistan won the last title of Champions Trophy by defeating India in 2017.

This will be the first time after 2017 that the ICC Champions Trophy will be held. According to a Cricinfo report, if the ICC accepts PCB’s plan, the Champions Trophy 2025 matches will be played between 19 February and 9 March, i.e. in the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is a holy month for Muslims. In this month, many Muslims do not eat anything from sunrise to sunset.

According to the proposed plan of Pakistan Cricket Board, the matches of ICC Champions Trophy will be played in three cities. Maximum 7 matches including the final will be held in Lahore. Apart from this, there is a proposal to hold 5 matches in Rawalpindi and 3 matches in Karachi. According to Cricbuzz, the match between India and Pakistan can be held in Lahore.

This will be the first time since 1996 that Pakistan will host an ICC tournament. In 1996, the World Cup was jointly hosted by India and Pakistan. After this, three World Cups of ODI and T20 formats have been held in India. Pakistan has not been able to host any ICC tournament since 1996 due to security reasons. Many teams including India have not visited Pakistan for a long time.
