Champions Trophy in February, how many ODIs will the Indian team play before this mega event?

New Delhi. The atmosphere is already being prepared for the ICC Champions Trophy. There has already been a lot of uproar regarding the tournament being hosted by Pakistan. India refused to go and play in Pakistan, against which the Pakistan Cricket Board created a lot of hue and cry. Ultimately he/she was forced to accept BCCI’s demand to hold the tournament in the hybrid model. The Indian team will play all its matches outside Pakistan. This mega event is to be organized between 19 February and 9 March.

The Indian team has suffered a huge blow due to the defeat against Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The form of captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli on this tour has given the team management sleepless nights before the Champions Trophy. Both the legends are going to play an important role in the tournament but due to continuous flops, questions are being raised about whether they will be given a chance. However, BCCI has already made it clear that Rohit will captain Team India in the Champions Trophy.

How many matches are left for India?
Before entering the Champions Trophy, the Indian team will have only 3 ODI matches for preparation. The tournament is to be played in this format and Team India will strengthen its preparations by playing a series against England next month. India has to play in the first match of the Champions Trophy on 20th February. Before this, the first ODI will be played against England in Nagpur on 6 February. The second match will be played in Cuttack on 9 February while the last ODI match is to be played in Ahmedabad on 12 February.
