Champions Trophy 2025: Heartbeat increases, selectors will announce 15-member team

New Delhi. Today is going to be a very important day for Indian cricket. Captain Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar can announce the initial team to play in the Champions Trophy today. The men’s selection committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will meet today in Mumbai to select the Indian team for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and the three-match ODI series against England. After the selectors’ meeting, Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar will talk to the media in Mumbai.

Rohit Sharma is ready to captain India in the ICC tournament. Champions Trophy is returning after 8 years. All eyes will be on star Jasprit Bumrah and Karun Nair, who is staking his/her claim to return to the team after a long time. Bumrah is suffering from a back injury these days and there is doubt about his/her playing in the eight-team tournament to be held in Pakistan.

Who will be the second wicketkeeper?

Captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar will have to puzzle over who will be the wicketkeeper of the Indian team in the Champions Trophy. Rishabh Pant’s name is fixed as the first wicketkeeper, there is a tough competition between Sanju Samson, Dhruv Jurel and Ishan Kishan as the second wicketkeeper.

Shami’s return, eyes on Yashasvi and Karun

Experienced fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been included in the T20 team against England. The stalwart, who is returning from injury, is expected to play in the Champions Trophy and the ODI series against England. Left-handed explosive opener Yashasvi Jaiswal will also be included in India’s ODI team for the first time.
