Centre gives assurance to flood-hit Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, know what Home Minister Amit Shah said


New Delhi : Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and took stock of the flood situation in both the states. Shah assured the Chief Ministers of both the states of all possible help from the Center to deal with the rain and floods. A central government official said that the Home Ministry is in touch with senior officials of the flood-affected states. Along with this, central teams will be deployed to assess the damage in the states. In this regard, the Home Ministry formed an inter-ministerial team to assess the damage caused by rain and floods in Gujarat.

Central government sent a team

The central government has constituted a central team (IMCT) to assess the damage caused by rain and floods in Gujarat. The team will visit the flood-affected districts of Gujarat under the leadership of the Executive Director of the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM). This year the IMCT visited flood or landslide affected states like Assam, Kerala, Mizoram and Tripura. Between August 25 and 30, Gujarat was badly affected by rain due to a deep depression formed over Rajasthan and Gujarat. Apart from Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh has also been affected by heavy rains, cloudburst and landslides.

Heavy rain continues in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Sunday said that 13,227 people were evacuated from 294 villages in five districts due to torrential rains in the state in the last two days. An official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the depression formed on the coast of northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha moved northwestwards early Sunday and crossed the coast of the southern state near Kalingapatnam. Due to this, heavy rains were lashing the state for the last two days.

Many trains canceled due to heavy rains in Telangana

Heavy rains continue in many parts of Telangana including Hyderabad. After heavy rains in the state, small rivers in some districts are in spate and road connectivity of villages has been disrupted due to flood water. Hyderabad also received heavy rains and due to continuous rains overnight, many parts of the capital were waterlogged. Due to heavy rains and waterlogging on the tracks at many places, many trains have either been canceled or partially canceled. At the same time, the route of some trains has also been changed. Railway officials said on Sunday that about 24 trains have been stopped on the Vijayawada-Kazipet route. There is a lot of waterlogging on the track. At the same time, 30 trains have been canceled in Vijayawada division. South Central Railway said that many trains are being diverted and canceled as a precaution due to heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh.

Heavy rains affect life in Gujarat

The flood situation in Gujarat due to heavy rains has affected life to a great extent, and the assurance given by the central government has taken a significant step towards relief work. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed concern over the flood situation in the state and assured all possible help to the victims. PM Modi also gave guidance on the safety of lives and livestock of citizens. Also, Gujarat was assured of all necessary support and assistance from the central government.
