New Delhi: Congress is continuously preparing for the assembly elections in Maharashtra. The first list of 48 candidates has been released by the party. The meeting of the Congress Central Election Committee regarding the remaining candidates is going on in Delhi today. Many senior leaders including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi are present in this meeting. The party is engaged in a tussle over the selection of leadership candidates. It is believed that their names will be finalized today.

Conflict over the names of Congress candidates in Maharashtra

Voting for 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra will be held in a single phase on November 20. The results will also be revealed with the counting of votes on November 23. In such a situation, all the major political parties including Congress and BJP are busy making strategies to win this election battle. Four days are left for nomination in Maharashtra elections. October 29 is the last day to file nominations. This is the reason why the important meeting of the Congress Central Election Committee is being held at the party headquarters in Delhi.

Know the seat sharing formula in MVS

Congress is in alliance with Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray’s party in Maharashtra elections. The name of this alliance is Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). Recently the seat sharing formula in this alliance was revealed. According to which, the three parties of Maha Vikas Aghadi (Maha Vikas Aghadi Seat Sharing) will contest elections on 85-85-85 seats. However, suspense remains on 15 seats.
