CBI tightens its grip on bribe-takers, like Delhi, bribery case has come up in Customs department in Bengaluru too

New Delhi: After the alleged bribery case was exposed in ICD Customs located in Tughlakabad, Delhi, now a similar case has come to light in ICD Customs located in Bengaluru. Where the CBI has registered a case against a superintendent on charges of acquiring assets disproportionate to his/her income. At present, the customs officer has not been arrested. The CBI has raided several hideouts of the accused.

The case was registered on September 21

CBI said that the Superintendent against whom the case has been registered is Ramesh Chandra Tripathi. he/she was posted as Superintendent in Customs ICD Whitefield, Bengaluru. A case was registered against him/her on 21st September on the basis of a complaint received. In the complaint, the accused was accused of allegedly being involved in bribery. After this, joint action was taken by CBI and Directorate General of Customs. Teams of both the departments raided the accused’s place. From where CBI and Customs Vigilance recovered more than Rs 25 lakh.

CBI found important documents during the search

CBI also conducted searches at the accused’s house in Bengaluru. Many important documents were recovered from there. CBI officials say that investigation is being done in the case. It is being ascertained which other Customs officers and employees are involved in this bribery case. If the name of anyone else comes up in this case, then action will be taken against them as well.
