CBI raids 10 locations in illegal sand mining case in Rajasthan


New Delhi : The CBI on Friday raided 10 locations of suspects in the illegal sand mining case in Rajasthan. This raid was conducted in Jaipur, Tonk, Ajmer and Bhilwara of Rajasthan. In this, searches were conducted at the houses, offices and other places of the suspects. CBI said that they have recovered very important documents and other evidence during the raid.

High Court order of 16 April

This action of CBI was taken in connection with the ongoing investigation related to illegal sand mining in Rajasthan.
According to CBI, following the orders given by the Rajasthan High Court on April 16 this year, CBI had re-registered a case on April 26 on allegations of illegal sand mining in Rajasthan and took over the investigation. Which was earlier registered under Section 379 of IPC and Section 21(4) of MMDR Act in Sadar police station of Bundi district of Rajasthan.

Illegal mining of 40 metric tons of sand

In this case, a private person was accused of carrying away 40 metric tonnes of sand from a dumper on October 24, 2023, while mining the sand without any valid pass/permit or license or other authority. Other people are also involved in the case.
The accused was arrested. During the investigation in the case, the dumper owner was also arrested by Rajasthan Police on 22 February. Now this raid has been conducted in connection with the ongoing investigation in the case.
