CBFC’s scissors cut on 4 scenes of ‘Baby John’, Shastri and Phule dialogues changed, so many hours of film

Bollywood release ‘Baby John’, which will be released in theaters on December 25, 2024, remains in the news due to its stars and filmmaker Atlee. Only a few days are left for its release. Meanwhile, the Censor Board has already taken action on some parts of the film. CBFC gave U/A certificate to ‘Baby John’ but also made modifications. It was earlier said that the Baby John title has no connection with any political person or organization. A voiceover and text were also added to state that the child actors’ performances followed current guidelines, but the board took issue with some of the dialogue. The word ‘Phule’ in the reference to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule was muted, while the mention of Lal Bahadur Shastri was replaced with another word.

Apart from this, CBFC gave suggestions regarding editing of four scenes. The scene of a character kicking a ‘Kalash’ was changed, the scene of setting fire was reduced by 50%, the shot of a character’s face being burned by a cigarette was changed, and a close-up of a gun was changed. The bullet was reworked.

Furthermore, the filmmakers had to submit AWBI (Animal Welfare Board of India) certificate and also provide data on the rape mentioned in the film along with the facts. With these changes implemented, Baby John was cleared by the CBFC on 16 December. Now the last runtime of the film is 164.01 minutes, after which it has become 2 hours, 44 minutes and 1 second.

‘Baby John’ starring Varun Dhawan, Jackie Shroff, Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi promises to end the year with a bang when it releases in theaters this Christmas. The makers of ‘Baby John’, directed by Kelly, brought in a team of eight international action directors to choreograph its adrenaline-pumping scenes. Eight action directors Anal Arasu, Stunt Silva, ⁠Anbarev, ⁠Yannick Benn, ⁠Sunil Rodrigues, ⁠ Kaloyan Vodenicherov, Manohar Verma, Bronwyn October have choreographed eight major action scenes.
