CAT Results Declared: Such is the dominance of engineering students in CAT results, 13 students scored 100 percentile!

The results of CAT 2024 have been declared by IIM Calcutta on Thursday evening. You can check your scorecard by visiting the official website of CAT. You will need to log in for this using your application credentials. Out of 3.29 lakh registered candidates, 2.93 lakh appeared for the exam. Among these, engineering students and boys were more successful. There are 14 students who have secured 100 percentile score and out of these 14 students, 13 are from engineering background.

Based on CAT scores and the institute’s own criteria, IIMs will soon release the shortlist for the next stage of admission. Apart from IIMs, 86 non-IIM institutes will also accept CAT 2024 scores for their management programmes. Candidates are advised to check the registration status of the institute on CAT website before applying.

Of the registered candidates, 67.53% were from General category, 4.80% from EWS, 16.91% from NC-OBC, 8.51% from SC, 2.25% from ST and 0.44% from PWD. Of the 2.93 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam, 67.20% were from the general category. There is only 1 girl and 13 boys among the top scorers. Moreover, 29 candidates have secured 99.99 percentile. Of these, 25 are from engineering and 4 from non-engineering background. There are 27 boys and only 2 girls in this group. Thirty students have scored 99.98 percentile.

CAT exam is a big opportunity for those students who want to study management i.e. MBA. This examination is conducted for admission in the top business schools of the country. After CAT exam, you also have to prepare for group discussion and personal interview.
