Can’t imagine a better representative than Priyanka for Wayanad, why did Rahul say this?


New Delhi : Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday, a day before Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra filed her nomination from Wayanad parliamentary constituency, said he/she could not imagine a better representative for the constituency than his/her sister. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will file nomination from Wayanad parliamentary constituency on Wednesday (October 23) and on this occasion, party parliamentary party chief Sonia Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and many other leaders will be present.

“The people of Wayanad hold a special place in my heart and I can’t imagine a better representative for them than my sister Priyanka Gandhi,” Rahul Gandhi posted on social media platform ‘X’. I am confident that she will prove to be a staunch advocate of the needs of Wayanad and a powerful voice in Parliament. Join us tomorrow, October 23, when she will file her nomination for the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency, she said. Let us together ensure that Wayanad continues to be represented with love.

Played role in Lok Sabha elections

If elected from Wayanad, Priyanka will become a member of any House for the first time. She entered active politics before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Since then she has been fulfilling the responsibility of party general secretary. In June, days after the Lok Sabha elections, Congress had announced that Rahul Gandhi would keep Rae Bareli parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh and vacate the Wayanad seat in Kerala, from where his/her sister Priyanka Gandhi will make her electoral innings.

For the first time, 3 members from Gandhi family will be in Parliament.

If elected, Priyanka Gandhi will become an MP for the first time and it will also be the first time that three members of the Gandhi family – Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka will be in Parliament together. By-elections to the Wayanad parliamentary seat and 47 assembly seats will be held on November 13 along with the first phase of voting for the Jharkhand Assembly. Counting of votes will take place on November 23.
