Canada Study Permit: Why does Canada study permit get rejected? 5 reasons revealed, those going abroad must read

Canada Study Permit Rejection: Canada is a popular country among Indians for studying abroad. More than four lakh Indian students are studying in the universities here. Canada attracts a large number of Indian students every year because of its high-quality education and universities. Study permit is required to study in any country. Same is the case with Canada too, where after admission in the university, one has to obtain a study permit to go to study.
However, this year study permits are being rejected in large numbers. In such a situation, it is very important for students to know the reasons due to which study permit applications are rejected. If you know the reasons for rejection, you will avoid repeating them in your application, which will increase your chances of getting a study permit. In such a situation, let us know about those five reasons due to which most of the study permit applications are being rejected.

Evidence of insufficient funds

Study permit applications may be rejected if you do not have the necessary funds to study in Canada or do not show proof that you have sufficient funds to study. ‘Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’ i.e. IRCC will have to show that you have enough money to cover your stay in Canada, study fees and travel expenses. A Canadian study permit requires an account balance of 20,635 Canadian dollars plus tuition fees and travel expenses.

No proof of connection to your country

During the study permit interview, you need to assure the immigration officer that you will leave Canada and return to your country after completing your studies. Generally, to prove this you have to provide evidence of strong relations with your country. Such as having property, family or important work in your home country, for which you will have to leave Canada after studies.

Not writing a good letter of explanation

The Letter of Explanation is very important for your study permit application. In this you have to tell why you have chosen a particular college or course for studies. At the same time, you have to tell why you want to study in Canada. Providing this letter is not mandatory, but IRCC recommends providing it. But many times people do not write it well, due to which their application gets rejected.

Missing important documents

If your study permit application is incomplete then on this basis the application gets rejected. Many times applicants do not include the required documents. In case the application is incomplete, IRCC does not process it and sends it back. You may be asked to apply again by completing the incomplete information. Even if fees are not paid, the application gets rejected.

Not getting the admission letter validated by the school

From 1 December 2023, new international students will be required to get their ‘Letter of Admission’ (LOA) validated by the ‘Designated Learning Institution’ (DLI) before applying for a study permit. This work is done after applying for study permit. DLI has 10 days to validate the LOA on IRCC’s online portal. If the LOA is not validated within the deadline, IRCC rejects the application.
