New Delhi: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has admitted that he/she has no concrete evidence that India was involved in the murder of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The Indian Foreign Ministry has given a strong reaction to this statement of Trudeau. The Foreign Ministry said that Trudeau’s statement confirms that Canada has not provided any evidence to support the allegations made against India. Only Trudeau is responsible for the loss in India-Canada relations. The whole affair started in June last year when Nijjar was murdered in British Columbia.

India immediately rejected Trudeau’s statements. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that what we have heard today only confirms what we have been saying all along. Canada has not provided us with any evidence to support the serious allegations made against India and Indian diplomats. Huge uproar over Nijjar murder case

The matter escalated further when Canada identified the Indian High Commissioner and other diplomats as ‘suspicious persons’ in the investigation into Nijjar’s murder. The Indian government condemned Canada’s ‘unfounded shooting’ and expressed concern about the safety of its diplomats amid the growing insurgency. India recalled High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma and also announced that it reserves the right to take further action against Canada’s alleged support for extremism.
