Canada PM’s lie caught, MEA’s lie exposed, Trudeau is responsible for the damage caused to the relations between the two countries.

New Delhi: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has admitted that he/she has no concrete evidence that India was involved in the murder of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The Indian Foreign Ministry has given a strong reaction to this statement of Trudeau. The Foreign Ministry said that Trudeau’s statement confirms that Canada has not provided any evidence to support the allegations made against India. Only Trudeau is responsible for the loss in India-Canada relations. The whole affair started in June last year when Nijjar was murdered in British Columbia.

When Trudeau admitted the truth, India retaliated

Canadian PM Trudeau had accused India of being involved in the murder of Nijjar. India had called these allegations ‘absurd’ and said that this was a political stunt by Trudeau. Trudeau, testifying before a foreign inquiry, acknowledged that his/her government had initially accused India based on intelligence rather than solid evidence. Trudeau said that intelligence from Canada and its allies suggested that Indian agents were involved, but acknowledged that there was no concrete evidence at the time.

Was Trudeau hating India from day one? How relationships keep getting spoiled year after year, look at the timeline.

We do not have solid evidence against India – Trudeau

Trudeau said that we told India that this was not definitive evidence, but was only intelligence information at that time. he/she said that our effort was to ensure that India cooperates with us behind the scenes. he/she said that they should give us whatever evidence you have against us. Our answer was that it is within your security agency. You should join in to see how much they know. No, no, but show us the proof. At the time, it was mainly intelligence, not solid evidence. So we said let’s work together.

Canada did not provide evidence on the allegations- MEA

India immediately rejected Trudeau’s statements. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that what we have heard today only confirms what we have been saying all along. Canada has not provided us with any evidence to support the serious allegations made against India and Indian diplomats. Bagchi further said that the entire responsibility for the damage caused to India-Canada relations lies with Trudeau. he/she further said that the responsibility for the damage caused to India-Canada relations due to this careless behavior lies with Prime Minister Trudeau alone.

Huge uproar over Nijjar murder case

The matter escalated further when Canada identified the Indian High Commissioner and other diplomats as ‘suspicious persons’ in the investigation into Nijjar’s murder. In response, India expelled six Canadian diplomats after summoning acting acting chief of staff Stewart Wheeler. The Indian government condemned Canada’s ‘unfounded shooting’ and expressed concern about the safety of its diplomats amid the growing insurgency. India recalled High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma and also announced that it reserves the right to take further action against Canada’s alleged support for extremism.

How India-Canada relations deteriorated

Canada’s initial allegations, made without clear evidence, strained already fragile relations. Especially on the issue of Canada allowing Khalistani activities on its soil. India has consistently criticized Canada for allowing such elements.
