BYC is preparing for ‘Baloch Genocide Remembrance Day’ through awareness campaigns and demonstrations across Balochistan


Baloch Yakjehati Committee (BYC) has organized rallies and activities in several Baloch cities as part of the awareness campaign for the upcoming “Baloch Genocide Remembrance Day”. According to The Balochistan Post report, important leaders of BYC participated in these programs.

Earlier on Sunday, BYC had organized a protest rally at Malir Sharafi Goth in Karachi. Many men and women participated, underscoring the importance of Dalbandan’s Memorial Day on January 25, 2025. The aim of the rally was to raise public awareness about the atrocities endured by the Baloch people.

BYC leader Sammy Deen Baloch spoke to the protesters, highlighting the Baloch people’s continuing fight against systemic violence, enforced disappearances and government repression. According to a report by The Balochistan Post, he/she reaffirmed BYC’s dedication to its objectives in the face of harsh state repression.

Sammi Deen Baloch also raised the issue of police action in Lyari on 18 January, which resulted in the arrest of peaceful Baloch protesters, The Balochistan Post reported. Male protesters, including BYC sub-organizer Lala Wahab Baloch, were remanded for three days, while female detainees were illegally detained until late at night before being released. he/she stressed that the resolve of the Baloch people to fight against injustice cannot be weakened by such acts.

Similarly, in anticipation of “Baloch Genocide Remembrance Day”, an event organized by Khuzdar Zone of BYC was held at Shaheed Razak Chowk. BYC central organizer Mehrang Baloch addressed the people and described the site as a witness to the suffering of the Baloch people.

Referring to the killing of Abdul Rauf and the mass graves found in Tutak on 25 January, Mehrang Baloch called attention to the injustice and atrocities faced by the Baloch, leading to the observance of “Baloch Genocide Remembrance Day”, reports Balochistan Post. Inspired the establishment. She appreciated the strong participation of women in Khuzdar despite the constraints imposed by the state.

BYC organizers Shahji Sabgatullah and Beberg Baloch led an awareness rally in Nushki, where attendees paid homage at the graves of the killed Baloch people as a sign of respect. The rally was also a component of the continuous awareness campaign.

At present, BYC leader Sabiha Baloch is in Chagai district. he/she stressed the importance of Baloch solidarity and unity during his/her visit. Historically, he/she said, enemies have taken advantage of divisions within the community, but now the unity of the Baloch has frightened their enemies.

According to BYC, the awareness campaign is an important effort to highlight the struggles of the oppressed Baloch people, raise awareness about their issues and garner support for the “Baloch Genocide Remembrance Day”. It said that these demonstrations and public programs have not only raised voice against state oppression but also inspired the Baloch people to unite.
