Bumrah won Pujji’s heart, he/she said – this will be the next captain of Team India

New Delhi. Indian cricket team’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah played the responsibility of captain very well in the first match of Border Gavaskar Trophy. Rohit Sharma could not play in the first match due to the birth of his/her second child. India’s middle order batsman Cheteshwar Pujara believes that Bumrah has all the qualities to become a good captain. Team India should consider Rohit Sharma as a long-term option for captaincy after he/she steps down from this role.

Jasprit Bumrah had set a good example of leading the team in the first Test match against Australia in the absence of Rohit. Team India, which was restricted to 150 runs in the first innings, took a lead of 46 runs against Australia by taking 5 wickets. This stalwart played an important role in giving India a big victory by taking a total of 8 wickets in the match.

Pujara told ESPN Cricinfo, “There is no doubt that he/she is (a viable long-term captaincy option). When India was playing its first Test match in Australia after suffering a crushing defeat in the series on home soil, he/she displayed his/her leadership qualities in difficult circumstances. I believe that he/she has the ability to lead the team and he/she is a team man. You see him/her, he/she never talks only about himself, he/she talks about the team and other players.

India suffered a 0-3 defeat at the hands of New Zealand in the home series, which dealt a blow to its hopes of making it to the World Test Championship final for the third consecutive time. Pujara said, “Many times it happens when players do not need advice and they accept it. he/she believes that if someone is an experienced player then he/she will remain calm. This is the sign of a good captain.

The star batsman further said about Bumrah, “he/she is very friendly with the players in the dressing room and is eager to help. he/she is a good person to talk to, he/she is polite even outside the cricket field.

Rohit Sharma will return as captain in the second Test match against Australia starting from December 6 in Adelaide.
