BSF again seized gold worth crores from India-Bangladesh border, know how smugglers’ plan failed

New Delhi Acting on its intelligence input, BSF has arrested a smuggler from the border area of ​​India-Bangladesh border in Nadia district of West Bengal. 20 gold biscuits and 2 gold bricks were recovered from him/her. This smuggler was taking this consignment of gold for further delivery after smuggling. The total weight of the seized gold is 4.7 kg. Its value is around Rs 3.28 crore. Earlier on July 4, BSF and DRI had seized 9.6 kg gold worth around Rs 7 crore in a joint operation in Nadia district itself.

BSF said that on July 5, based on information from BSF intelligence department about gold smuggling, the company commander of Border Outpost Puttikhali 8th Battalion laid an ambush in the deep area of ​​Mathurapur village. The ambush party saw a suspicious person coming from Tagori village towards Mathurapur village on a scooty.

After identifying the suspect, he/she was apprehended. The arrested person and the scooty were brought to the border post. When the scooty was searched, 20 gold biscuits and 2 gold bricks were found in the luggage kept under the seat of the scooty. The arrested person was identified as Mathur Das (name changed). he/she is a resident of Nadia district of West Bengal. During interrogation, the accused told that he/she was going to deliver the consignment of gold in Bangaon.
he/she used to get good money for this work. The arrested accused and the seized gold have been handed over to DRI Kolkata for further action.
