BSF action on India-Bangladesh border, 6 kg gold and 10 kg silver seized, two female smugglers arrested

New Delhi: In two separate cases, BSF has seized 6 kg gold and 10 kg silver in India-Bangladesh border area in West Bengal. In the case of gold smuggling, the smuggler managed to escape from BSF, while in the case of silver, BSF caught two women smugglers. BSF said that this incident is of 19th patrol. When the soldiers of border post Vijaypur 32nd battalion seized 22 gold biscuits, 08 gold bricks and a small piece of gold from the border area of ​​Nadia district of West Bengal. In this incident which happened on 19th August, the smuggler also attacked the BSF jawan with a sharp weapon. In retaliation, the jawan fired. The jawan could not catch the gold smuggler, but on hearing the sound of the bullet, the smuggler left the gold there and ran away.

The seized gold weighs six kilos. Its value is Rs 4 crore 32 lakh. BSF said that this smuggler was coming here on a bicycle in a bamboo garden adjacent to a banana garden. When the soldier stopped him/her for investigation after seeing his/her suspicious activity, he/she started shooting at the soldier. After this, a scuffle broke out. During this, the gold tied to his/her waist fell down. The smuggler attacked the soldier, in response the soldier fired a bullet. The smuggler left the gold and ran away.

Two women smugglers arrested
In another case, the soldiers of Border Outpost Panitar of 102nd Battalion under South Bengal Frontier, acting on the information of BSF’s intelligence department, foiled the smuggling of silver on the India-Bangladesh border of District North 24 Parganas of West Bengal. Here two women smugglers were caught with 10 kg of silver grains. These smugglers were trying to smuggle these silver grains from India to Bangladesh. The value of the seized silver is Rs 8 lakh 36 thousand. Both the women smugglers and the seized silver were brought to BOP Panitar for further legal action. Both the accused women are residents of Dakshin Para of North 24 Parganas. During interrogation, both the women smugglers revealed that they work for an unknown person of Itinda village. After taking the consignment on August 19, they were going to hand it over to a Bangladeshi smuggler. During this time she was caught.
