Brian Lara’s big statement, said- these 2 Indians can break my record of 400 runs…


New Delhi. Whenever it comes to big scores in cricket, the name of West Indies’ legendary cricketer Brian Lara comes to mind. Lara has made a world record of 400 runs in an innings of a Test match. Many players have crossed the 300 mark but they have not been able to come close to this score. Now Brian Lara himself has told who will break his/her record. For this, he/she has named two Indians Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Brian Lara, while talking to Daily Mail, said, “There were many players in my time who could do this. Players like Virender Sehwag, Chris Gayle and Sanath Jayasuriya could break my record. Some players could score more than 300 runs but could not cross the 400 mark. I think 2 players from England and 2 players from India can break my record. I think Jack Crowley and Harry Brook of England can break my record. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill from India can also break this record if they get the right conditions.”

Let us tell you that all of them are emerging players. They still have a lot of cricket left in them. Harry Brook has so far scored 1181 runs at an average of 62. Yashasvi Jaiswal is also batting brilliantly. he/she has so far scored 1028 runs for India at an average of 68. Talking about Gill, he/she has scored 1492 runs at an average of 35. On the other hand, talking about England’s Jack Crowley, he/she has scored 2687 runs in 45 matches. his/her highest score has been 268.

Lara broke the world record by playing an unbeaten innings of 400 runs against England. Brian Lara faced 582 balls in his/her innings and hit 43 fours and 4 sixes. Lara batted for 778 minutes and with this he/she reached the magical figure of 400 runs. Brian Lara broke the record of Australia’s Matthew Hayden in this match. he/she broke Brian Lara’s record of 375 runs by playing an innings of 380 runs against Zimbabwe on 10 October 2003. Lara had played an innings of 375 runs in 1994, 10 years before this innings.
