what is needed

1 cup raw turmeric washed and peeled, 1 cup cumin seeds soaked in water for 5 to 6 hours, 1/2 cup dry ginger powder (sonth), 1/2 cup fennel, 2 cups ghee, 2 cups jaggery, 1 cup each dry Nuts like cashews, raisins, dry dates, lotus seeds, etc. You can use any dry fruits of your choice.

Spice Halwa Pudding Recipe

Here’s how to make this postpartum pudding:

  • Take cumin seeds and soak it in water for five to six hours.
  • Clean the raw turmeric thoroughly and remove the top cover, cut it and put it in the grinding jar.
  • Swirl it all around, turmeric paste is ready. Put cumin seeds in the same jar and grind them.
  • Take out both the turmeric pastes in the same vessel.

  • Take all the dry fruits of your choice. Heat ghee in a pan and add paste of both turmeric and cumin seeds.
  • Fry them till the smell starts coming. Put all the dry fruits in it.
  • Mix them well. Add sonth (dry ginger powder) and mix well.
  • Now add fennel and mix well. Cook on low to medium heat and keep stirring occasionally. Meanwhile put jaggery and turn off the gas.
