BJP’s defeat in Ayodhya is not surprising… Why did Vikas Dwivedi say this, know the inside story

New Delhi: The way BJP lost in Ayodhya in the 2024 elections was discussed across the country. After the construction of the grand Ram temple, hardly anyone would have expected that BJP would fail in Ayodhya. However, it happened, the party had to face defeat from the SP candidate there. Vikas Divyakirti spoke openly on what were the factors that became the reason for the defeat of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Faizabad seat. he/she mentioned all the things that were responsible for the lotus not blooming in the Faizabad seat. Vikas Divyakirti mentioned every point from the demography to the caste equation there.

Vikas Divyakirti, one of the popular teachers who prepares students for UPSC Civil Services, mentioned several reasons behind BJP’s defeat in Ayodhya. Vikas Divyakirti, who is considered an IAS mentor, said that the role of social media was very important in this election. Future elections will also be fought on the basis of social media. Freedom of media means that if someone is not tampering with the facts, then he/she has the right to speak in the media. However, in this election, a notion, a slogan or whatever you call it, that we will change the constitution played an important role.

Vikas Divyakirti said that as soon as the talk of ‘Samvidhan Badal Denge’ came out, it sent a message to the people that reservation will be abolished. However, there was nothing like this and BJP has said this many times that nothing like this will happen. But politics runs on perception. If this notion got into the minds of the people that these people will abolish reservation, will change the constitution. This point played an important role. However, the public does not know how the constitution is changed. They are not even interested in knowing this. Vikas Divyakirti said that 400 seats are not needed to change the constitution. 355 seats are enough for that. This was a normal thing.

IAS mentor Vikas Divyakirti said that the perception of changing the constitution was very effective in Uttar Pradesh. It did not work in Bihar because Nitish Kumar was with the BJP there. In such a situation, people expected that Nitish would never let the constitution be attacked. However, the effect of this issue was seen in UP. Regarding Ayodhya, people say that a temple was built there, yet how did the BJP lose. Vikas Divyakirti said that that seat is Faizabad, out of 5, only one part is Ayodhya. Almost all the seats around Faizabad have been won by the Samajwadi Party, so this is not a matter of any one seat.

Vikas Divyakirti mentioned the caste equation of Faizabad Lok Sabha seat. he/she said that if we look at the demographic index of Faizabad, OBCs are 22 percent there. Dalits are 21 percent, Muslims are 18 percent. All three together are around 60 percent. OBC votes are considered to be of Samajwadi Party. They fielded a Dalit candidate so that they can get Dalit votes. Fielding a Dalit candidate on a non-reserved seat is a rare occurrence. Its effect was seen in Ayodhya. Dalit votes went with SP. Muslims do not vote for BJP, so these three together are getting 60 percent votes. In such a situation, BJP losing in Ayodhya is not a surprise, but there is a lot of uproar in the media.

Vikas Divyakirti said that if we look at the situation of the last two elections on Faizabad seat, the winning candidate did not get many votes. The winning gap was only around 12 thousand. This time Dalit voters came with SP. Every time BSP used to get around 1.5 lakh votes. This time the BSP candidate got around 50 thousand votes. In such a situation, around one lakh votes were transferred to SP. On the other hand, SP candidate Awadhesh Kumar won by only about 50 thousand votes. In such a situation, BJP’s defeat is not surprising.
