BJP MP used wrong language… Why did Kiren Rijiju question his/her own MP amidst the ruckus in Parliament

New Delhi: There was a lot of uproar in the Lok Sabha today also on the comment of BJP MP Abhijit Gangopadhyay on Wednesday. The entire opposition was demanding an apology from the BJP MP and the government. During this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju tried to handle the situation. Speaking in the House, he/she said that the BJP MP has misused language. We all are members of this great House, if any member makes such a comment which hurts the dignity of the House, it is a very sad incident for everyone. Whether it is from the ruling party or the opposition, if any member makes such a comment which hurts the dignity of the House, then you take action from time to time. You remove him/her from the proceedings of the House, the rest the Speaker has the right.

I could have defended if I wanted- Kiren Rijiju

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister further said that if any member makes such a comment, the Speaker has the power to take action against him/her. I want to say this on behalf of my government, I am not saying in detail, I was not in the House. I was in the Rajya Sabha, the incident happened before I came. I could have defended if I wanted, I do not want to go into who provoked our member. However, as soon as the Lok Sabha proceedings began on Thursday, there was a ruckus in the House. After this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that it is important to maintain the dignity of the House.

Keep your seat belt tied, the weather is going to get worseā€¦ What did TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee say that made the Speaker angry?

Lok Sabha speaker’s advice to members

In this matter, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that he/she is giving the ruling and everybody should sit and obey it. This House has a lot of dignity, it has a high tradition and custom. We are all fortunate that the people have elected us to the 18th Lok Sabha. All the members should say their views in the House, participate in discussions, and should not make any such comments which are not in accordance with parliamentary traditions. The tradition should be as per India’s reputation in the world. We sponge off such words, do not make such comments while sitting in future. Never debate or challenge the Chair. The more we maintain the dignity of the House, the more we will maintain the dignity of the Chair.

Uproar over BJP MP Abhijit Gangopadhyay’s comment

That’s why the opposition raised questions

When opposition members including Gaurav Gogoi started creating ruckus, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said that if the member has used any unparliamentary word, then the chair will decide on it. But Gaurav Gogoi should not have said such a thing during the discussion on the budget. On the other hand, Gangopadhyay kept speaking amidst the ruckus of opposition members. Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla took the chair and wanted to know the reason for the controversy. Gogoi said that unparliamentary words have been used in the House for which the MP should apologize. he/she said that Union Minister Meghwal should also have apologized on behalf of the government. Later, Birla said that the word on which the controversy is taking place has been removed from the proceedings. he/she also said that many topics are brought up for discussion which no one should bring. While saying anything about the leader of the House or about any member, it should not be kept without proof.
