BJP may get zero seats in these 8 states, know how much impact it will have

New Delhi: All the phases of Lok Sabha elections, 2024 have been completed. This time BJP is claiming to win more than 400 seats. All the bigwigs of BJP including PM Narendra Modi held all-out rallies to come to power for the third consecutive time. However, even after this, there are many states in the country where BJP or NDA alliance may not get even a single seat. Let us know which are the states where BJP may have to settle for zero seats.

BJP has not been able to open its account in Kerala yet

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Kerala, out of a total of 20 seats, Congress along with its allies was successful in winning 19 seats. The ruling CPM got only one seat. BJP has not been able to open its account in this Muslim and Christian dominated state yet. In the 2019 general elections in Kerala, BJP got 13 percent votes. This time too BJP and PM Narendra Modi have put in their best efforts. This may increase the vote percentage, but there may be doubts on whether BJP will get seats.

The last phase will test the equation of ‘new friendship’, will BJP keep the game in its hand or will India’s magic work

Is it very difficult to win even 1 seat in Goa?

In a small state like Goa, there are only 2 Lok Sabha seats – North Goa and South Goa seats. The margin of victory and defeat on these is very less. In 2014, BJP had won both the Lok Sabha seats. At the same time, in 2019, Shripad Naik won from the North Goa seat, but BJP lost the South Goa seat. This time BJP has fielded a woman candidate for the first time from the South Goa seat, Pallavi Dempo, who belongs to an industrialist family. Congress, AAP and Goa Forward Party have claimed that Pallavi Dempo has been given the candidature because she is the wife of the state’s famous industrialist Srinivas Dempo. In such a situation, it will be very challenging for the BJP to win both the seats.

BJP is not even in the field in Meghalaya

BJP has not fielded a single candidate in Meghalaya. In fact, BJP has an alliance with the National People’s Front (NPP), a party led by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress won one seat and NPP won one seat. In the 2014 elections also, Congress got one seat and NPP got one seat. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Congress has decided to contest both the seats. It will compete with PPP only.

The road to victory for BJP in Mizoram is not easy

In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP has fielded its candidate for the only Lok Sabha seat in Mizoram. BJP’s current state president Vanlalhmuaka is contesting for this seat. There is only one Lok Sabha seat in the state, which is reserved for Scheduled Tribes. Mizo National Front won this seat in 2019. At the same time, Congress won this seat in 2014. In such a situation, winning this seat can also be a challenge for BJP.

BJP did not field any candidate in Nagaland, the scales are weak

Nagaland, a major state in the Northeast, has one Lok Sabha seat. In 2019, NDPP’s Tokheho Yepthomi won here. BJP has not fielded any candidate here.

Only one candidate in Manipur

There are 2 Lok Sabha seats in Manipur. BJP has fielded only one candidate here, who is from Inner Manipur seat. At the same time, NPF has made former IRS Timothy Jimmik its candidate. Jimmik is a resident of Ukhrul district. BJP has decided to support him/her. In the Lok Sabha elections 2019, BJP candidate Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh won only one seat. In the previous Lok Sabha elections, Congress was dominant here. In such a situation, BJP may face tough competition this time too.

Chances of victory are also less in Lakshadweep and Puducherry

BJP has also decided to support the Ajit Pawar faction’s candidate in Lakshadweep. BJP has made the current state Home Minister A Namassivayam its candidate in Puducherry, which has one Lok Sabha seat. Here too the main fight is between BJP and Congress. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP or NDA did not win from here. This seat was won by the UPA alliance.

How much difference will the loss in these states make to BJP

It will not make much difference to BJP if it does not win seats in the above mentioned states. Because earlier also it had won very few seats there. Even if it wins some seats in these states, it will get it as a bonus.
