When the country became independent, Nagpur was made the capital of Madhya Pradesh. But in 1956 the state was reorganized. Madhya Bharat, Vindhya Pradesh and Bhopal were merged, and the Vidarbha region was separated. Since then Bhopal has remained the capital of Madhya Pradesh.

The interesting thing here is that some of the rock shelters here were inhabited more than 1 lakh years ago. Let us tell you, these caves are also a World Heritage Site in India.
