Biggest upset of T20 World Cup, Afghanistan defeated Australia


New Delhi. Perhaps the biggest upset in the history of ICC T20 World Cup has been witnessed this time. Afghanistan team won a very thrilling match against Australia. Batting first, the team scored 148 runs for 6 wickets on the basis of fifties by Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran. The Kangaroo team, which came out to achieve this, faltered badly and the Afghan team caused an upset.

The Afghanistan team pulled off the biggest upset in the ICC T20 World Cup and forced a strong team like Australia to kneel down. After losing the toss, the Afghan team came in to bat first and the century partnership of openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran gave them a solid start. Both the batsmen were out after scoring fifties. With Gurbaz’s 60 and Zadran’s 51 runs, the Afghan team put up a fighting score.

Gulbadin turned the match around
Afghanistan’s fast bowler Naveen Ul Haq gave Australia early blows and completely opened up the match. Captain Rashid Khan handed the ball to Gulbadin Naib and everything changed. By taking four wickets one after the other, this experienced player dashed Australia’s hopes. he/she took 4 big wickets by giving 20 runs in 4 overs. Gulbadin took the big wickets of Marcus Stoinis who was in top form and Glenn Maxwell who was playing after scoring a half-century. he/she also dismissed Tim David and then Pat Cummins.
