Big responsibility to the Chief Secretary of Manipur… Modi government made major changes in the central bureaucracy

New Delhi: As part of the administrative reshuffle made by the Central Government on Wednesday, senior bureaucrat Arunish Chawla has been appointed Revenue Secretary. Chawla, a 1992 batch Bihar cadre officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), held the post of Pharmaceuticals Secretary. As per the order of the Ministry of Personnel, he/she has been appointed Secretary, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. The post of Revenue Secretary had become vacant after Sanjay Malhotra was appointed Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) earlier this month. According to the order, Chawla will continue to hold the additional charge of the post of Secretary, Ministry of Culture, till his/her regular appointment. It said that Unique Identification Authority of India Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Amit Agarwal has been appointed as the new Pharmaceuticals Secretary in place of Chawla. According to the order, Manipur Chief Secretary Vineet Joshi has been made Higher Education Secretary. Joshi, a 1992 batch IAS officer, was appointed Chief Secretary of Manipur in May last year. At that time he/she was working as Additional Secretary in the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education.

According to the order, Textiles Secretary Rachna Shah has been appointed Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training. It said senior IAS officer Sanjay Sethi, currently serving in his/her cadre state Maharashtra, will be the new secretary of the National Minorities Commission. he/she will replace Neelam Shammi Rao, who has been appointed Textiles Secretary in place of Rachna Shah. According to the order, Neerja Shekhar, currently posted as Special Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, will be the Director General of the National Productivity Council under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.
