New Delhi. BCCI’s review meeting was awaited after the poor performance of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the Border Gavaskar Trophy played in Australia. As expected, there was discussion about both these great players in this meeting. It is being told that after the BCCI review, both of them can be seen playing in Ranji Trophy. Virat has not played any Ranji Trophy match since November 2012. he/she last played a domestic tournament for Delhi in 2013.

Captain Rohit Sharma last participated in the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai in 2015 and has been away from domestic cricket since 2018. PTI has reported that BCCI has instructed star players to play in domestic matches. BCCI has made it clear that players who want to play Test cricket will have to play Ranji Trophy matches. The red-ball tournament will start again from January 23. India-England ODI series is going to start from 6th February. Virat and Rohit can play at least one Ranji Trophy match before the England series.

Rohit-Kohli conflict in BGT
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were seen struggling to score runs in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Despite scoring a century in the first match of the series, Kohli scored only 190 runs in 5 matches. Rohit Sharma did not play the first and last test match. he/she scored only 31 runs in 3 matches.

No pick-and-choose policy from now on
PTI has reported that from now on players will not be able to choose and leave bilateral series. he/she will have to give a valid medical report to leave the series. Many senior Indian players had earlier decided to sit out of the bilateral series to take rest of their own free will.
