Gandhi will also be entitled to one private secretary, two additional private secretaries, two assistant private secretaries, two personal assistants, one Hindi steno, one clerk, one sweeper and four Class IV employees. he/she will get constituency allowance at the same rate for the period specified under Section 8 of the 1954 Act, in addition to the sumptuary allowance.

Entry into politics since 2004

Rahul Gandhi entered Indian politics in 2004. Rahul contested his/her first election from Amethi. This was the same seat represented by his/her mother Sonia Gandhi (1999-2004) and his/her late father Rajiv Gandhi between 1981-91. Gandhi was appointed Vice President of the Congress in 2013. he/she took charge of the party on 16 December 2017. he/she left the post of president in May 2019 after the defeat in the Lok Sabha elections.
