New Delhi. The Afghanistan team, which is performing brilliantly in the T20 World Cup 2024, has suffered a major setback before entering the Super-8. Afghanistan’s star off-spinner Mujeeb-ur-Rahman has been ruled out of the tournament. 23-year-old Mujeeb has been making significant contributions to Afghanistan’s cricket in the last few years. he/she is an important part of Afghanistan’s spin battery. Hazratullah Zazai has been included in the Afghanistan squad in place of Mujeeb.

Talking about T20 World Cup 2024, Mujeeb did not get many opportunities in the tournament on the fast pitches of West Indies and America. he/she participated in only one match of Group-C, where he/she took 1 wicket in three overs against Uganda and conceded 16 runs. Due to a finger injury, he/she is now out of the tournament. So far, Mujeeb has taken 59 wickets in 46 T20 international matches. During this, his/her economy was 6.35.

If we talk about Afghanistan’s performance in the T20 World Cup, first of all they defeated Uganda by 125 runs. After which the Afghan fighters defeated a big team like New Zealand by a big margin of 84 runs. After this, this team also defeated Papua New Guinea by seven wickets. Now in the Super-8, they have to face India on June 20. Then they have to play against Australia on June 22.
