Bhuvneshwar hits jackpot, RCB buys, Mukesh Kumar also hits lottery


New Delhi. Even on the second day of IPL Auction 2025, a lot of money is being showered on the players. There was a bid of more than Rs 10 crore on swing maestro Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was out of Team India, while the franchise also spent sackfuls of money on fast bowler Mukesh Kumar, who came from Gopalganj, Bihar. Bhuvi was bought by Virat Kohli’s team Royal Challengers Bangalore in the auction on Monday, while Mukesh Kumar was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 8 crore. Recently, fast bowler Akash Deep, who left his/her mark on the international stage, also won the lottery. Lucknow Super Giants added him/her for Rs 8 crore.

Deepak Chahar, who played for Chennai Super Kings last season, will be seen playing for Mumbai Indians in the upcoming season of IPL. On the second day, Sunrisers Hyderabad, owned by Kavya Maran, landed with the least amount. SRH sat on the auction table with Rs 5.15 crore while RCB had the highest purse. Openers Prithvi Shaw and Shardul Thakur remained unsold in the first session on the second day. On the first day, IPL veteran David Warner, England’s Jonny Bairstow, India’s Devdutt Padikkal and young Yash Dhull did not find any buyers. All these remained unsold.
