Bharti Airtel’s 5G network will now be available in 55 cities, every corner of the country by 2024


Bharti Airtel is expanding 5G coverage in major Indian cities. The company is planning to make 5G available in all major cities of India by December 2023 and across the country by 2024. In the recent roll-out, Airtel has made Airtel 5G Plus live in 7 cities of Andhra Pradesh. People of Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Kurnool, Guntur and Tirupati can now use 5G service. With this, Airtel has reached over 60 Indian cities with its 5G network.

Here is the list of places where Airtel 5G Plus is available:

– Assam: Guwahati
Andhra Pradesh: Vizag, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Kurnool, Guntur and Tirupati.
– Bihar: Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bodh Gaya and Bhagalpur
– Delhi
– Gujarat: Ahmedabad
Haryana: Gurugram, Panipat and Faridabad.
– Himachal Pradesh: Shimla
– Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu, Srinagar, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Akhnoor, Kupwara, Lakhanpur and Khaur
– Jharkhand: Ranchi and Jamshedpur
– Karnataka: Bengaluru
– Kerala: Kochi
– Maharashtra: Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune
– Madhya Pradesh: Indore
– Manipur: Imphal
– Odisha: Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela and Puri
– Rajasthan: Jaipur, Kota and Udaipur

How to check Airtel 5G availability

Airtel users can check the availability of 5G network and compatibility of their smartphone on the Airtel Thanks app. Airtel has assured users that they will not need to get a new Airtel 5G SIM to use the 5G network. The pre-existing 4G SIM will automatically connect to 5G as soon as the smartphone comes within the Airtel 5G network coverage area.

Almost all major smartphone brands have released system updates for Airtel’s 5G network. Realme, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, iQOO, Apple, OnePlus, Samsung, Nothing Phone 1, Nokia, Lava, Tecno, Infinix and Motorola 5G handsets have received the software update. Google has also updated Google Pixel 6A, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in January 2023.
