According to the report, all markets will remain closed. However, the market organization has not confirmed this yet. It is believed that the shutdown may affect public transport and private offices. But emergency services including ambulances will remain operational.

Will schools and colleges remain closed?

Despite the Bharat Bandh, government offices, banks, schools, colleges and petrol pumps will remain open. Apart from this, medical, public transport, train and electricity services will also remain open.

Police on high alert

Bharat Bandh has been announced even before this

This is not the first time Bharat Bandh has happened this year. Earlier in February 2024, farmer organizations had announced a bandh on 16 February regarding their demands. Although, there was no effect of this in most parts of India, but due to the farmers’ agitation, people in Punjab and Haryana had to face many problems.

This is how you can stay alert during the shutdown

• If a lockdown has been announced in your city, do not go out of the house.
• People going to school and college may face difficulty in getting public transport. It is better to go by your own vehicle or don’t go at all.
• If you have to go out, use the streets instead of the road.
• Avoid posting any picture or video on social media that incite violence.
