‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’ fame Asif Sheikh remembers his/her role in Salman-Shahrukh’s ‘Karan Arjun’

Actor Asif Sheikh, who played the role of Vibhuti Narayan Mishra in the television show ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’, has also appeared in the film ‘Karan Arjun’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. The actor has talked about his/her signature line from the film ‘Karan Arjun’. his/her signature line in the film, ‘What a joke’, still resonates in the hearts of fans. ‘What a joke’ isn’t just a line

he/she said, ‘When Karan Arjun’s director Rakesh Roshan first told me about this role, he/she emphasized that what a joke is not just a line but the core of Sooraj’s character. he/she wanted it to be Suraj’s reaction to everything, which would bring a charm to the character. From day one, I incorporated what’s a joke into every scene. I experimented with different tones as the director of the film thought.

‘he/she was not the first choice for this role’

The actor further said, ‘he/she was not the first choice for this role. Gulshan Grover was initially cast as Suraj Singh. he/she repeated this scene many times and also spoke the character’s lines. But I got this role. It was a game of luck or something but it gave me an opportunity to make What a Joke a memorable part of Bollywood history.
