New Delhi. The Indian cricket team has to enter the ODI series only after a few months of the difficult Test cricket being played against Australia. This is being seen as Team India’s preparation before the Champions Trophy starting from 19th February. Before this big tournament, India will prepare for the three-match series against England to be played from 6 to 12 February. Before the Champions Trophy, the selectors can take a big decision regarding Jasprit Bumrah.
According to a report in India Today, Jasprit Bumrah will be out of the ODI series against England. The reason for this is that the team management wants to rest this star fast bowler before the big ICC tournament like Champions Trophy 2025.
BCCI alert about Bumrah’s workload management
In the last few weeks, there has been discussion about Jasprit Bumrah’s workload. This star bowler has performed amazingly in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. There has been a lot of pressure on Bumrah during the series and he/she has had to bowl more and more overs. Jasprit Bumrah has become the first fast bowler to take 30 wickets in Border Gavaskar Trophy history. After the defeat in the Melbourne Test, captain Rohit Sharma also admitted that he/she was made to bowl too much. There is a need to manage their workload.
Rohit said, “To be honest, there is a risk of making Bumrah bowl too much. he/she has bowled a lot of overs. In every Test match, we keep in mind the workload of all the bowlers. But if a player is in such good form, you want to make the most of that form and that’s what we are trying to do with Bumrah.”
