Dr. Santosh Yadav from Surat has shared a video on his/her Instagram and told which three special types of foods should be fed to children in winter. So let’s move ahead and know what kind of foods are good for children to eat in the cold season.

The doctor said that children should be fed plenty of fruits like orange, guava and amla during the cold season. he/she says that these fruits contain plenty of Vitamin C and antioxidants are found in abundance. Both of these work to strengthen immunity. This helps children fight seasonal diseases like cold and cough.

According to Dr. Santosh, you have to feed ragi, jowar and millet to your child. Eating these provides heat to the body and in the winter season they provide warmth to the body. These three are rich in iron and calcium which boost immunity. At the same time, fiber is also found in abundance in them, due to which the child’s stomach remains clean and he/she does not suffer from constipation.

Children should especially be given almonds and walnuts because they contain amino acids which help in brain development and provide warmth and strength to the body. Apart from this, flax and chia seeds can also be given to the child. These also increase immunity and protect against infection.

If your baby is 6 months old, then you have to give him/her the above mentioned foods in the form of puree, but if your baby is between seven to nine months old, then you can give him/her these foods in a mashed form.
