New Delhi. After consecutive defeats, a decision can now be taken to impose some restrictions on the players of the Indian cricket team. After the shocking defeat in the home Test series against New Zealand and the 1-3 defeat against Australia, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued new guidelines for the Indian players. Be it senior or junior, everyone will travel together in the team bus. The wives of the players will not be able to stay with them during the entire foreign tour.

According to a recent report in Dainik Jagran, in the review meeting held between BCCI officials, captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar, it has been decided that the wives of Indian players will not be able to stay with them during the entire tour. BCCI is planning to re-implement the pre-Covid rules.

Rules will change on living with wife
The Indian team players along with their wives and family members will not be able to travel during the entire tour. If a tournament or series lasts more than 45 days, the wife or family can stay with the player only for 14 days. For short tours this limit will be only seven days.

In the recently concluded Australia series, the wives of many cricketers like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were present in all the matches. The board believes that the presence of the family during the entire tour is affecting the performance of the players. It has also been told that all Indian players will have to travel in the team bus. In the last few years, many players have preferred to travel alone, but this will not happen now. No matter how old a player is, he/she will have to travel in the team bus only.

According to the report, “Keeping in mind the unity of the team, now all the players will travel only in the team bus. No matter how old the player is, he/she will not be allowed to travel separately.” Apart from the players, BCCI has also decided that the manager of India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir will not be allowed to stay in the team hotel. They will not be allowed to watch the match from the VIP box and have also been barred from using the team bus.
