BCCI made it clear to ICC, Team India will not go to Pakistan to play Champions Trophy

New Delhi. The news about whether the Indian team will play in the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan next year or not has now come to an end. According to media reports, BCCI has made it clear to ICC that Team India will not go to Pakistan to play the tournament. The Champions Trophy of 8 teams is to be played at three places in Pakistan between 19 February and 9 March. After this decision, it has now been decided that the tournament will be conducted in hybrid model.

BCCI has informed ICC that India will not go to Pakistan to participate in the 2025 Champions Trophy. According to ESPNcricinfo, BCCI told ICC that the Indian government has refused to send the team to Pakistan.

The Champions Trophy is to be held in Pakistan between 19 February and 9 March between eight teams. Following BCCI’s decision, the ICC and PCB will now have to work on an alternative plan, which will likely involve a hybrid model where teams will travel between Pakistan and another location.

PCB chairman refuses hybrid model

ICC’s problems will increase after BCCI refuses to go to Pakistan to play Champions Trophy. If he/she wants to field India in this tournament then it will have to be done in hybrid model only. However, it will not be so easy because on Friday PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had refused to use the hybrid model. There was not even any discussion on this.

According to ESPNcricinfo, a few months ago, plans were prepared according to different circumstances, which were for the adoption of hybrid model. According to the information, some countries have been shortlisted in which UAE may be at the forefront. India’s matches can also be held in Sri Lanka.
