The best thing is that the OPT program is for one year, but if someone has studied Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths i.e. STEM related courses, then he/she can also take a two-year STEM OPT extension.

J-1 Visa: This visa from the US government is for exchange visitors. Many universities and institutions in America run educational and cultural exchange programs, through which students or people from universities or institutions of another country are invited to America. Students coming to America to study under the exchange program have to return to the country within two years of completing the course. During this time they can also do job in America.
