The festival of Diwali is celebrated till Bhai Dooj (15 November). Due to this, people are confused whether there is a bank holiday on 13, 14 and 15 November or not. According to the bank holidays calendar released by RBI, banks will remain closed for 15 days in November 2023. This includes Sunday and second and fourth Saturday holidays.

Will banks remain closed on 13, 14 and 15 November?

Bank holidays vary according to the region. In such a situation, the bank is kept closed in that region on the basis of regional festivals. According to RBI, there will be a holiday in banks on November 13 on the occasion of Govardhan Puja and Lakshmi Puja (Diwali) in Tripura, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Manipur, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Sikkim on 14th November due to Diwali Bali Pratipada, Deepawali, Vikram Samvant New Year Day and Lakshmi Puja. On November 15, banks will remain closed in Sikkim, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Bhaidooj, Chitragupta Jayanti, Lakshmi Puja (Diwali), Ningol Chakkouba and Bhratri Dwitiya.

Bank closed for three consecutive days

After this the festival of Diwali was on Sunday. Before that there was a holiday in banks as it fell on the second Saturday. For this reason, banks in some states will remain closed for three to four consecutive days on Diwali. Let us tell you, only the branches of the banks are closed. Internet banking, mobile banking and ATM facilities will continue. You can easily transact through the bank’s online platform or ATM.

When will banks remain closed during Chhath?

Bihar and Jharkhand will remain closed on 20th November on the occasion of Chhath Puja. Apart from this, there will be holiday for banks in Uttarakhand and Meghalaya on the occasion of Seng Kutsnem and Egas-Bagwal. At the same time, banks will remain closed in Karnataka on 30th November on the occasion of Kanakdas Jayanti.
