Balochistan ready for Baloch National Conference to be held on July 28

Balochistan is preparing for the Baloch National Convention starting on July 28. This is a massive demonstration across Balochistan and the rest of Pakistan aimed at protesting the Baloch genocide and the exploitation of natural resources by Pakistan and China.

Mehrang Baloch, a prominent Baloch activist and organiser with the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, said on social media: “Imperialist mega projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Balochistan are instrumental in supporting state actions that amount to Baloch genocide. These projects, which are meant for development, exploit the Baloch people and fuel state repression.”

he/she further said, “The Baloch Raji Muchi (Baloch National Assembly) will not only oppose the Baloch genocide and advocate for the existence of the Baloch nation, but will also serve as a historic referendum. The event will declare that the Baloch nation will not tolerate destruction and genocide under any circumstances.”

The hashtag #BalochNationalGathering is becoming popular on social media platforms.

In Karachi, Baloch Yakjehti Committee Karachi Zone organised a meeting at Faqir Colony to raise awareness about the upcoming Baloch National Conference.

“Unity of the Baloch people is key to ending the Baloch genocide. Join our Balochi Raji Muchi on July 28 in Gwadar,” BYC said.

The launch of the Baloch National Assembly was announced by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee through a video press release on 6 July.

In his/her video statement, Mehrang Baloch reiterated, “Last year, a massive long march was organised from Turbat to Islamabad, which culminated in a significant protest at the National Press Club in Islamabad. Despite these efforts, the Baloch genocide continues.”

he/she lamented, “Pakistan shows no willingness to stop this atrocity. Every year, from Gwadar to Shal, from Koh-e-Sulaiman to Karachi, our youth are forcibly disappeared, tortured and their mutilated bodies dumped. The Baloch people face targeted attacks.” he/she stressed that the Baloch genocide involves much more than the abductions and killings of Baloch youth.
