Balochistan: Protestors in Turbat demand safe return of abducted persons including Wahid Qambar Baloch




Locals and political activists organized a massive protest rally in Turbat town of Kench district of Balochistan, demanding the return of individuals including Baloch independence activist Wahid Qambar Baloch, whom they claim was allegedly killed. Has been kidnapped by Pakistani secret agents.

According to the Balochistan Post, the rally, which included women, children and youth, was organized by Qamar’s family and supported by Baloch nationalist groups.

Wahid Qambar, an activist in the Baloch freedom movement, was reportedly abducted from Kerman area of ​​Iran on July 19. his/her family and Baloch nationalist groups allege that Pakistani secret agents were responsible for his/her abduction and he/she is currently in the custody of Pakistani forces.

The protesters held photographs of Qamar and other missing persons and raised slogans against enforced disappearances.

Balochistan Post reported that the rally was led by Qambar’s daughter Mehleab Qambar Baloch, who addressed the crowd, saying, “My father has been a part of the Baloch political struggle and has always advocated for Baloch rights. Pakistan has kidnapped him/her and is keeping him/her illegally.

Mahleb Kambar also urged his/her father’s immediate release and a fair trial, calling on international human rights organizations to intervene to ensure his/her safety as a political prisoner.

Protesters expressed their concerns over the wider issue of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, with families of other missing persons also joining in demanding justice. he/she accused the state of using courts and commissions to push its narrative without providing justice.

Speakers at the rally criticized state policies, arguing that the use of violence and intimidation has only fueled instability in the region, leading many to turn to armed resistance.

The rally ended with a call for the immediate recovery of Wahid Qambar and all other forcibly disappeared persons.

The protesters urged the state to stop repression of Baloch political and social activists, demanding transparency and accountability.
