Baloch activists in Germany protest against Pakistan’s oppression, take out rally


Baloch National Movement (BNM) organized protests in Cologne and Chemnitz, Germany on International Human Rights Day to raise awareness about the ongoing human rights violations in Balochistan.

The participants, including BNM members and supporters, held banners and placards on Tuesday demanding international recognition of the severe oppression faced by the Baloch people under Pakistani rule.

Amjid Murad, Finance Secretary of BNM Germany, called on the international community to honor its commitment to human rights by addressing the ongoing suffering in Balochistan. he/she emphasized that the Baloch nation continues to suffer atrocities under Pakistan’s authoritarian rule and urged the global community to take immediate action.

During the protests, BNM leaders gave powerful speeches condemning the systematic oppression of the Baloch nation by the Pakistani state. BNM Germany Chapter President Sharhasan spoke passionately about the brutal treatment of the people of Balochistan, accusing the Pakistani government of systematically denying them basic human rights and engaging in a campaign of genocide against the Baloch.

Uzair Baloch, BNM member from NRW and Rhineland-Palatinate, highlighted alarming state-sponsored violence in Balochistan, including enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings and abductions of innocent civilians. he/she highlighted that these individuals are often wrongly labeled as terrorists and killed in fake encounters. Baloch called for immediate intervention by the international community to stop these human rights violations.

Poet and BNM member Shai Jami condemned the international community’s indifference towards the suffering of the Baloch people. he/she pointed out that despite raising these issues at international forums, the plight of the Baloch nation has gone largely unnoticed.

Asif Baloch, another BNM member, noted the stark contrast between global celebrations of Human Rights Day and the ongoing protests in Balochistan, where families continue to demand justice for their loved ones who have been forcibly disappeared. he/she called on the international community to recognize and take action against the injustice being done to the Baloch people.

BNM member Bakhtawar Zahid stressed that the ongoing atrocities in Balochistan are part of a deliberate strategy to crush the Baloch freedom movement. he/she stressed that the right to self-determination of the Baloch nation must be recognized to achieve peace and justice.

BNM member Shali Zakir warned that failing to address atrocities in Balochistan would have long-term consequences for the region. he/she urged the international community to take decisive and immediate action to stop the violence.

Hamida Baloch, another BNM member, spoke about the deep pain and suffering of the families of the missing persons, and described enforced disappearances as a constant source of fear for the Baloch community.

A supporter of the Baloch movement shared his/her personal experiences of suffering under state repression, and urged the international community to take meaningful action against the ongoing oppression.

The protests in Germany served as a powerful reminder of the ongoing struggle for human rights and justice in Balochistan. BNM’s call for global intervention and recognition of the rights of the Baloch people was a key message of the day, as activists and supporters rallied to raise awareness of the dire situation in the region.
