Bajrang and Vinesh are trying to increase their political weight, the whole country is watching the election battle of Haryana

New Delhi: Olympian wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joined hands with Congress on Friday to enter the political arena ahead of the Haryana assembly elections. Mallikarjun Kharge posted after meeting the two, ‘Chak De India, Chak De Haryana! We are proud of both of you.’ On joining Congress, Vinesh said, ‘When we were being dragged on the streets, all parties stood with us except BJP. BJP was supporting Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, while Congress supported the protesting wrestlers who were being dragged.’ Vinesh Phogat will contest from Julana and Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi. Bajrang said, ‘We had written to all BJP women MPs to stand with us but they did not come.’ Both Bajrang and Vinesh had protested against former BJP MP and then chief of Wrestling Federation of India Brij Bhushan over allegations of sexual harassment. Vinesh also resigned from the post of OSD in Railways. Congress general secretary K.C. Venugopal claimed that Vinesh was issued a notice by the Railways after she met Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday.

Venugopal asked if it was a crime to meet the opposition leader. he/she asked the railway officials not to play politics. Wrestler Sakshi Malik, who was present in the protests, said, ‘It is their personal choice to join a party. Our movement should not be given a wrong impression. The movement is continuing from my side. I also got offers.’

SP will not contest assembly elections in Haryana

SP will not contest the assembly elections in Haryana. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav announced this on Friday. he/she said that SP will support any party in India that is capable of defeating BJP. Akhilesh said on Friday that we are ready to make every sacrifice with a big heart for the benefit of Haryana.
