Bahraich violence: Ban on demolition action against the accused, Supreme Court will hear the case


New Delhi : The demolition action against the accused in the Bahraich violence case has been put on hold for the time being. This information was given in the Supreme Court by the UP government. The Supreme Court will hear this matter on Wednesday. This matter was taken up for hearing in the Supreme Court on behalf of the petitioner accused. On this, the above argument was given by the UP government and the Supreme Court has fixed Wednesday as the date for hearing in the case.

Petition filed in Supreme Court

The Supreme Court will hear on Wednesday the plea of ​​three accused in the Bahraich communal violence case against the demolition notice issued by the Uttar Pradesh government. Senior advocate CU Singh, appearing for the petitioners, referred the matter before the bench of Justice BR Gavai and Justice KV Vishwanathan and pleaded for urgent hearing. The petitioner’s lawyer said that this is a petition of three persons who have received demolition related notices.

UP government will reply in 3 days

The state government has given only three days to respond to the notice. The notices were issued on October 17 and pasted on the evening of the 18th. The authority has issued notices to many people whose names are registered as accused in the demolition case. The authority alleges that their constructions are illegal. Three of them have approached the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court had said that if someone is accused or guilty then this alone cannot be the basis for demolition. The Supreme Court had said that our country is secular and we will issue a guideline for all citizens in the matter of demolition of property. These guidelines will be applicable across the country.

The Supreme Court had said that guidelines will be issued and it will be ensured that illegal construction is removed as per local law but it is not misused and the procedure is followed. The Supreme Court has reserved its decision on the petition filed against the demolish action.
