Bad news for Pakistan, Bangladesh has a chance to create history


New Delhi. Pakistan is in danger of losing the Test series. The first day of the Rawalpindi Test match was cancelled without a single ball being bowled. On the first day of the second Test match of the series, it rained continuously in Rawalpindi on Friday, due to which the toss could not take place. Bangladesh is leading 1-0 in the two-match Test series. It had registered a historic 10-wicket win at the same venue last week. In this match, Pakistan’s second innings were reduced to just 146 runs on the fifth and final day.

Due to heavy rain, the players and team officials stayed in the hotel. The umpires cancelled the day’s play at 12:05 pm local time. The outfield of the ground is submerged due to heavy rain. Both the teams are just above the West Indies, which is at the bottom of the World Test Championship table. In this, Bangladesh is at seventh place and Pakistan is at eighth place.

Pakistan, which has lost four consecutive Test matches since Shan Masood was made the captain last year, has not won a single home Test since defeating South Africa in December 2021. The four Test matches played against New Zealand and Australia were drawn. Pakistan has dropped fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi from its 12-member squad and included another left-arm spinner Mir Hamza along with leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed.

The first Test of the series was also played in Rawalpindi. In this Test, Pakistan did not include a single specialist spinner in the playing eleven. After that, it was heavily criticized. In the first Test, the spin duo of Shakib and Mehdi Hasan Miraz together took 7 wickets in the second innings.
