‘Bad news’ for Indians from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, it will be difficult to get a job soon!

Jobs for Indians in Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are the two largest countries in the Middle East. While there are 26 lakh Indians in Saudi, the number of Indians in Kuwait is around 10 lakh. This shows how influential Indian workers are in both these countries. However, a bad news has come for Indians from these two countries. The report states that in Saudi and Kuwait, local people may soon be replaced by foreign workers in skill and semi-skilled jobs.
An international study has been conducted on migrant workers in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. It has been told that at present, local people are working in middle-skill jobs instead of migrants. But soon the impact will be seen in high skilled jobs also, because local employees will be seen working in these jobs instead of foreigners. Local employees are continuously improving their skills, due to which it will become easier for them to work in high-skilled jobs.

Researchers from Netherlands and Qatar have done the study

This study was done by Abdul A., faculty of Groningen Growth and Development Center of Groningen University, Netherlands. Erumban and Abbas Al-Mejran of Kuwait University’s College of Business Administration. This study has recently been published in an international journal “Structural Change and Economic Dynamics”. The authors of the study have explained how this will have the biggest impact on India, because a large number of Indian workers go to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait every year.

How will Indians be affected?

Speaking to the English newspaper The Hindu, Dr. Erumban said that for countries like India, it is a big threat for countries like India to replace middle and high skilled migrant workers with local people, because the local people are increasing their skills in this area. Jobs like massage therapist, office manager, electrician, police officer, social media specialist, truck driver are called middle skill jobs. Indians are doing these jobs in large numbers in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

However, now local people are also doing this work, due to which the problem of not getting jobs has arisen for Indians. In the category of high skill jobs, there are jobs like software engineering, data analyst, scientist, engineer. To do this work, Indians go to Middle East countries. But now local people are also studying these courses, due to which they are also now eligible to do this work. If this happens, it will be difficult for Indians to get jobs in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
