‘Baby John”s huge pack is making huge profits! ‘Mufasa’ also got a shock on the 18th day


Monday was not a very good day for all the three films at the box office. While the earnings of ‘Pushpa 2’ have also declined by more than -60% after Sunday, Varun Dhawan’s ‘Baby John’ has now been packed. This film, released on the occasion of Christmas, has not been able to earn even Rs 30 lakh on its second Monday. Whereas on the 18th day, Disney’s ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ has also suffered a setback. The harsh cold in North India has also affected the ticket windows, where there has been a huge decline in the number of viewers. ‘Baby John’, directed by Kalisz, is in the worst condition at the moment. This action film made under the banner of Atlee was released with great fanfare. Atlee had said at the trailer launch of the film that it will do wonders in Varun Dhawan’s career like ‘Animal’. But the situation is that ‘Baby John’ has proved to be the actor’s weakest film. Made with a budget of Rs 185 crore, this film does not seem to be earning even Rs 50 crore in its lifetime.

According to the report of sacnilk, ‘Baby John’ has done a business of only Rs 25 lakh in the country on Monday, the 13th day. A day earlier on Sunday, it had earned Rs 85 lakh. Due to lack of audience, around 2500 shows of the film were reduced after the first weekend itself. Whereas now even in few shows this film is yearning for the audience. The audience occupancy of the film on Monday was only 8.66%, while its total collection in 13 days has reached only Rs 38.75 crore.

‘Baby John’ Worldwide Collection

Even in terms of worldwide collection, ‘Baby John’ has failed badly. This film has made a gross collection of only Rs 60 crore in 13 days at the global box office. Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh and Vamika Gabbi starrer ‘Baby John’ has proved to be a disaster. One reason for this is that it is a remake of Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Theri’ released in 2016, which was directed by Atlee himself. ‘Theri’ is already available in Hindi on YouTube and OTT. In such a situation, the audience has not shown interest in watching the same movie scene by scene again in the theatres.

‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ Collection

On the other hand, the earnings of ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ have also fallen in India on Monday. However, it has definitely collected Rs 1.25 crore on the 18th day. On Sunday, this film animation film did a business of Rs 4.85 crore including English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. This film has proved to be a superhit in India also, where its total collection is now Rs 124.40 crore.

‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ Worldwide Collection

The worldwide earning pace of ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ is still quite fast. It has made a gross collection of Rs 3450 crore at the global box office in just 18 days. Even though it is lagging behind 33 day old ‘Pushpa 2’ in India, Allu Arjun’s film is nowhere ahead of it in worldwide earnings.

On Monday, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ has made a nett business of Rs 2.50 crore. The total collection of the film in the country is now Rs 1208.70 crore in 33 days. Out of this, the highest business of Rs 793.20 crore has been done in Hindi. Whereas worldwide it has earned a gross of around Rs 1715 crore.
