According to him/her, after the mental stress and criticism since last year, his/her role in the team as a specialist batsman is more important.

The PCB is in no hurry to announce the name of the captain in the white-ball format. he/she has asked selector Asad Shafiq and some members of the selection committee to recommend the name after in-depth discussions. The source said, ‘Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has made it clear that he/she wants information about all official discussions by the selection committee. This will also include the votes of both the foreign head coaches of the team. This will maintain transparency and the clear reason for appointing the captain will be known.
